Notes inside rectangle/box – default option

In engineering drawings often we need to show notes inside rectangular boxes for certain purposes. Luckily Pro E/ Creo has got some easy inbuilt options to do this. But not lucky enough! You will notice this soon.

See the examples below to know how to do this. The syntax is @[your text@]

Type the following texts in notes to get the corresponding output shown on left.

@[CHECK FOR CLEARANCES

DIMENSIONS TO BE SHOWN IN @[.XXX@] FORMAT

@[NOTE AS PER
COMPANY STANDARD
14/1254

NOTE AS PER
COMPANY STANDARD
14/1254
(See note 1 Below)

NOTE AS PER
COMPANY STANDARD
14/1254
@[&d1@]
(See note 2 Below)

Note 1: Pro E doesn’t have an easy to way to make notes like this. You have to do that manually. To do that, create a 1×1 table and enter the texts inside and then center align.

Note 2: Similarly to make a note like this one, create a 1×1 table and then type the following note. &d1 is just a dimension callout. When you use dimension callouts inside table like this one, sometimes you will have to open the note properties only by the right click. You can incorporate any dimension/ parameter callout within this syntax. Everything between the @[ and @] will come inside the box.

Normally you use this in drawing notes. Similarly you can use this in dimensions or other areas where you can input texts.

That’s all for this topic. I hope this helped you.
