Eight widely known major Italian carmakers are there.

Even tough there are different car manufactures in Italy, the surprising fact is that the parent entity of five carmakers out of eight is one company called Stellantis.

Since Stellantis is the parent of 5 out of 8 Italian car companies above, lets look at the details of it. It is the newest of the biggest mergers ever.

Stellantis N.V. was founded on January 2021 and is a result of 50-50 merger between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the French PSA Group. It is Headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Groupe PSA and FCA agreed to merge to create this new group in December 2019.

As you can see in the image below, it is the parent company for many of the famous car brands such as Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Mopar, Opel, Peugeot, Ram and Vauxhall.

Stellantis is now one of United States “Big Three” automobile manufacturers.

After the 50-50 merger, Stellantis is the 4th largest automotive global OEM in terms of of vehicle sales.

This new group will unite all brands under them from Mainstream Passenger Cars and SUVs to Trucks and Light Commercial and Luxury and Premium car brands.
