This page contains the parts pipes, beam, channel, sheet metal, and support blocks. There are 2D and 3D drawings and models available for pratice.

While trying to model and draw in any 3D CAD modelling software, try to use different features instead of using the same feature/ command again and again. For example, Use a hole command instead of using a extrude cut or removing material using a normal sketch. Solidworks is one of the best when it comes to easy UI design which enables us to know the various features available and make use of it.

Use the pattern to create holes in a pitch circle diameter (PCD) instead of creating individual holes. Similarly, use sweep or ‘follow along’ command for pipes which are bent. Channels and beams can also be made using sweep option. Beginner using Solidworks or similar 3D CAD modelling software usually create the first sketch at the centre of the plane. Try to avoid this. Always start your model/sketch from 0,0 XY coordinates. Based on my experience, this will help when you try to modify the features in a later stage and while revising the design. It also helps you in part assembly.
